02:54.30starlonNo
02:54.34starlonIt's a sim
02:54.43Viper-7LCD is a type of hardware display, like OLED or CRT, not a drawing style :P
02:54.48starlonI know.
02:54.52starlonIt's a simulation.
02:54.59starlonUsing LCD software tech.
02:55.15starlonIt's based on LCD4Linux in fact.

02:55.52starlonProperty :)
02:56.21Viper-7yep, all the talk about lcd4linux and its hardware support is what led me up the wrong path :P
02:56.51starlonWHy didn't it work?
02:57.07starlonOh you wanted to display WoW stats on a LCD. Hmm
02:57.12starlonNo that's not what this is about ;)
02:57.22Viper-7i really didnt want to go invading the game's memory space, but its looking more and more like its the only option
02:57.31starloncareful
02:57.34Viper-7i might just say screw it and do it with second life or such instead
02:58.35Viper-7im not worried about the legalities, its not something that'll be distributed, or used with paid accounts - im teaching an electronics / robotics class, and wanted to start people playing with real-time online interactions in a more familiar environment
02:58.41starlonSorry for the confusion. :) Maybe I should note this down somewhere where people can see it.
02:58.53Viper-7the idea was that they'd be able to build a robot that could dance when they did /dance ingame or such, but it doesnt seem feasible
02:58.56starlonOh cool.
02:59.07starlonhah cool
02:59.37starlonI did a maze bot, doing the wall walking method.
02:59.42starlonwas pretty fun
02:59.44Viper-7well, a better example might be it'd react when they get hit by an enemy or something
02:59.47Viper-7but yeah, you get the idea ;)
02:59.53starlonI had it play the charge anthem
02:59.57starlonlol
03:00.06starloncool
03:00.13starlonI'd love to get more into robotics.
03:00.23starlonI saw a penguin robot on one website.
03:00.38starloncoolest thing ever.
03:01.02Viper-7the electronics part is so cheap & easy nowadays, and the hardware is easy enough to build with the right tools handy
03:02.11starlonhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpH3ZsNwBn8
03:02.19starlonnods.
03:04.02starlonI'm no good at electronics though sadly.
03:05.25Viper-7the stuff you need to know really isnt hard to learn - you'll usually use servo driver boards and such that make things much easier
03:05.40Viper-799% of the work is writing the firmware for a microcontroller, which isnt that far from LUA :P
03:06.26starlonnods.
03:06.41Viper-7grab yourself an msp430 launchpad from texas instruments - they have a deal going where you can get them for $4.30 delivered, pretty much anywhere in the world. then have a play ;)
03:07.14starlonhttp://starlon.lyrical.net/images/robot3.jpg
03:07.27starloncool
03:09.26Viper-7the p8x32a processors like what that pengiun uses are far more popular for robotics, because they have the processing power to handle some more advanced features like image processing - dev boards usually go for about $30, but if you're new and just want to "get your feet wet" you cant go past the msp430 deal

10:23.57Repo1a2eab1: TooltipMain and ChatFrame1 are tied together in terms of intersect checks. LibWidget will watch whenever StarTipTooltipMain and ChatFrame1 intersect. What happens is the StarTipTooltipMain is hidden with alpha=0. It's a round about way of fixing the issue while mousing over the ChatFrame1 and there happens to be a unit right behind it. Before the tooltip hid all the text on ChatFrame1, and I guess the only way to get rid of it was to use an inverted mod
