13:30.50speakmanJacmet: how about making broken packages a "comment" in Config.in instead of 'depends on BROKEN'? Then people at least know it's there and once worked. Sometimes it's maybe just a matter of minor configuration arguments to make it work again and someone knows how to fix it without actuallt wanting it in their build?
13:37.34Jacmetspeakman: that's an option as well, if it doesn't clutter menuconfig too much
13:43.59speakmanJust thought people won't notice the broken packages when it's hidden :)
13:48.04Jacmetspeakman: well, it depends on how you search for packages - If you look in package/* you will find it, same if you search in menuconfig (/)
13:48.38Jacmetspeakman: if we change it to a comment you can no longer search for it in menuconfig (but you can see it if you look in the right submenu)
13:49.38speakmanmaybe moving it into a "Broken packages" submenu in packages/Config.in ?
13:52.02Jacmetspeakman: we could do so, but so far (almost?) none of the deprecated/broken stuff have gotten fixed, so it seems like a bit too much effort for what we'll get
13:55.10*** join/#uclibc bkuhn (~bkuhn@fsf/director/conservancy.president.bkuhn)
14:07.03speakmanJacmet: I thought that might be because nobody notice them :)
14:10.19Jacmetspeakman: potentially, yes - but I've also mentioned it in the changelog which gets linked to from the release notes - but yeah
14:10.45speakmanJacmet: ok. It's just a thought.
14:13.47Jacmetspeakman: yes, I know - Thanks
14:29.24speakmanSorry for O/T question, but do anyone of you know a computer part store in EU which ships to other EU countries?
14:35.12Jacmetspeakman: most do, probably?
14:50.25*** join/#uclibc likewise_ (~likewise@130-89-ftth.onsneteindhoven.nl)
14:51.06speakmanyou think?
14:51.27speakmanI just got no idea of such a store. Do you?
14:52.17speakmanI'm looking for a CPU Xeon W3680 which isn't currently available on any store in Sweden and it's delayed over and over again.
14:55.52Jacmetspeakman: strange, it's relatively old (~1 year)
14:56.12Jacmetspeakman: aren't they coming out with sandy bridge based Xeons soon?

16:07.34speakmanAny tip on hardware store?
16:08.47speakmanBut Sandy Bridge seem to be focused primarly at graphic acceleration.
16:13.07Jacmetspeakman: you could try http://www.edbpriser.dk/Search/Products.aspx?q=w3680&sp=all&nf=%2bspecifictaxonomy%3a^Hardware|2%2fProcessor|35
16:36.39speakmanJacmet: http://www.edbpriser.dk/Product/Details.aspx?pid=795739
16:36.59speakmanSeems like it's at least 3 days delivery time everywhere?
16:37.26speakman(which means they're all waiting on the same delivery as the sweden stores:))
16:41.42Jacmetspeakman: yeah :/
16:43.44speakmanknow of any stores in i.e. germany?

21:04.29Rotwanghi
21:05.35RotwangI've got a questin regarding buildroot, why it doesn't include files like crtn.o and others in final image?
21:06.05kos_tombecause they are not needed at runtime.
21:06.25y_morinRotwang: crtn.o and the likes are used only at buildkd time
21:06.36y_morinkos_tom: hello! Too fast, man! ;-)
21:06.41Rotwangkos_tom: sure, but I've choosen to include toolchain in final image
21:07.04Rotwangso I have got gcc and friends
21:07.21Rotwangbut no *.o stuff which I need for linking
21:07.24kos_tomRoland: could you paste your .config on some pastebin site ?
21:08.01Rotwangkos_tom: did you mean Rotwang?
21:09.06kos_tomyup, sorry.
21:09.15kos_tomgot fooled by the completion
21:09.58Rotwangunfortunatelly I've built everything at my workplace and brought just images home
21:10.14Rotwangso all I have is rootfs.tar
21:10.50kos_tomhave you used an internal or external toolchain in Buildroot ?
21:11.13Rotwangdefault one
21:11.18Rotwanginternal I believe
21:12.00Rotwangbtw. I have used buildroot snapshot from yesterday
21:19.58kos_tomhm, interesting. Would be good if you could send your .config tomorrow.
21:21.04Rotwangkos_tom: sure
21:21.32kos_tomI'm doing a test build now to see if I can reproduce.
21:21.39RotwangI guess those files cannot be generated somehow on a system that doesn't contain them already
21:21.43Rotwang?
21:22.17kos_tomnop.
21:22.31Rotwangk
21:22.37kos_tomy_morin: today, I had some issues with the gdbserver/cross-gdb from ct-ng toolchain.
21:23.06kos_tomy_morin: on one machine, cross-gdb complained about invalid "g" packets returned by gdbserver. This was with gdb 7.1, ct-ng 1.9.3
21:23.26kos_tomy_morin: on another machine, gdbserver didn't want to run, it couldn't find ps_pdwrite() or something like that.
21:23.28Rotwangthanks, I'll paste .config tomorrow around 15:00 CET
21:23.51Jacmetkos_tom / y_morin : hi
21:24.00kos_tomJacmet: hello !
21:24.04y_morinkos_tom: full log of errors? I don't often use gdb these days...
21:24.14y_morinJacmet: hey, man!
21:24.21kos_tomy_morin: I don't have it here, it happened at the training I gave today.
21:24.30y_morinkos_tom: at least .config ?
21:24.46kos_tomJacmet: I ack the patch of Andy Kennedy that moves the rw remount of / after the mount of proc.
21:25.14kos_tomeven though I'm not sure it's 100% correct for ro filesystems, I don't think it's worse than what we do today for ro filesystems.
21:31.04y_morinkos_tom: was the error : Remote 'g' packet reply is too long
21:31.31Jacmetkos_tom: ok, thanks
21:31.55kos_tomy_morin: yes.
21:44.51y_morinkos_tom:did you load the program to debug?
21:45.09y_morinkos_tom: I mean, in cross-gdb.
21:45.20kos_tomyes, I'm quite sure I did.
21:45.36y_morinkos_tom: OK, just checking.
21:45.57y_morinkos_tom: ARM?
21:57.33y_morinkos_tom: did you use 'set architecture blabla' ?
22:01.10*** join/#uclibc olistudent (~olistuden@vserver02.cte.de)
22:15.42kos_tomy_morin: yes, arm.
22:15.55kos_tomy_morin: no, I haven't used such command.
22:16.12kos_tomRotwang: ok, I could reproduce the problem. That's a fairly recent regression, I remember that it was working not so long ago.
22:16.43Rotwangah so
22:16.52Rotwangkos_tom: where can I expect teh fix?
22:16.58Rotwangwhen*
22:17.20kos_tomRotwang: no idea, I don't yet know what the problem is exactly.
22:17.31Rotwangok
22:17.47Rotwangif I copy files from toolchain directory is it going to work?
22:19.17kos_tomit should probably solve the particular problem you're having, but maybe that problem is hiding other problems.
22:20.00Rotwanganother issue, mesa3d fails to compile
22:21.08kos_tomok, please file some bugzilla reports
22:21.20kos_tomand attach the .config in each report.
22:21.25RotwangI've found a patch for that, maybe ill be able to find it again
22:21.35Rotwangand ffmpeg fails too
22:21.37Rotwang[;
22:21.45kos_tom<PROTECTED>
22:21.51Rotwangok I'll fill some bugz tomorrow
22:22.00kos_tomplease report all problems you face. We need to know what problems people are facing if we want to fix those :-)
22:22.04RotwangI've had problems with few packages
