02:04.43[g2]mjn3 ping
02:04.49mjn3hey
02:04.59[g2]hope your are getting settled in
02:05.25mjn3yeah.  woke up to snow this morning.  definitely something i'm not used to
02:05.41[g2]cool or maybe even cold
02:05.45[g2]:)
02:06.22[g2]mjn3 I was talking with andersee about setting up an nslu2 test box
02:06.39mjn3i saw some of that
02:06.52mjn3i need to set up mine, plus my kurobox
02:07.22[g2]we've got a 2.6.9 kernel building the Intel CSR stuff and jffs2 in OE
02:07.32mjn3cool
02:07.48[g2]we've also got a makefile that does Buildroot2
02:08.14[g2]both are using uclibc cvs
02:08.19[g2]3.4.2 gcc
02:09.38[g2]we ran into an NLS issue the other day and I would like to start setting up a test environment to verify the compiler/uclibc/apps etc
02:10.24kergothmjn3: question for you.. why is it, when locales are enabled, for arm, using davidm's precompiled locale data, if you statically link busybox, its HUGE?
02:10.27kergoth:)
02:11.15mjn3kergoth: because the locale implementation was really a proof of concept, and all the locale data gets linked with the app when static
02:11.24kergothaha
02:11.29kergothfigured itd be something like that
02:11.33mjn3for the full set of locales, it is something like 280K as i recall
02:11.43kergothsuppose we should disable it until it gets redone
02:11.56mjn3i want to rewrite that stuff prior to 1.0
02:12.30mjn3i haven't done anything with uclibc in a couple of weeks though.  it has all been packing/moving/settling in
02:12.48kergothliking the new place?
02:13.26mjn3yeah.  didn't get internet until thursday night (the apt complex was changing cable providers), and i'm _still_ waiting for it at work.  :-(
02:13.41kergothdoh
02:13.44mjn3other than that, everything is fine
02:13.52[g2]that's good to hear
02:15.18[g2]mjn3 I'll check back after the thanksgiving holiday and after a couple more issues get worked out
02:16.00[g2]I hope you get access to the big I soon and work and things continue to go smoothly
02:16.48mjn3i need to look at the toolchain stuff.  vapier checked support in for gcc 3.3.5 and 3.4.3 while i wasn't connectect and i'm not happy particularly happy about that.  i already had some stuff here for 3.3.5 and when looking at 3.4.3 i noticed they changed the unwinding details
02:17.33[g2]I'm sure you've got lots of stuff go catch up on
02:17.40mjn3yep
02:18.20mjn3i also wanted to look at the unwinding stuff again since there was some noise about that on the list

04:33.11Kevin_AHello?
04:36.13Kevin_AAnybody know a thing about buildroo?
04:36.49kergothwhat do you need to know?
04:37.04Kevin_AI am trying to build a lvm2 initrd with it...
04:37.21Kevin_ASeems like buildroot has changed since http://g-lite.kochen.nl/proj/initrd/
04:38.15kergothyes, its certain to have changed substantially.
