01:08.59jonpryi think detule did something bad to smd_tty in that kernel of yours
01:09.01ahigerdjonpry: Hey, you have any idea why 3.3 is having problems with data but 3.2 works?
01:09.06ahigerdOh, heh
01:09.07ahigerdHi
01:09.27jonprywell thats not just any 3.3, but detule's custom blend right?
01:09.51ahigerdUh... yeah, I suppose so, I don't have any other 3.3 builds to try
01:10.12ahigerdGo figure though, I boot back into 3.2.11 autobuild because I NEEDED data on the go, and first call I make hits the bug
01:10.32jonpryyeah we need to get 3.3 autobuild setup
01:11.55ahigerdSo yeah, it seems that power collapse is borking communication with the radio, but something else changed between 3.2 and 3.3 that makes data... problematic.
01:12.13ahigerdSome things work, some things don't. I can get updates via Google Play but I can't buy songs; I can access some websites but others just stall
01:13.20jonprythe new smd_tty just can't work
01:13.42ahigerdIs that necessary for data?
01:13.50jonpryyes
01:13.58ahigerdThat explains that then.
01:14.15ahigerdHow much would it take to disable PC on 3.2?
01:14.36jonprycherry pick the patches i think
01:14.44ahigerdI don't have a toolchain atm :(
01:15.03jonpryi don't have the patches atm
01:15.10ahigerdBah
01:15.16ahigerddetule, publish. XD
01:16.11jonprythey are on gitorious somewhere. but i don't know how to cherrypick from different repos
01:16.42ahigerdOh, that's not too hard, you do "git fetch origin ssh://blah/blah.git"
01:16.49ahigerdThen you cherry-pick locally
01:16.57jonpryhttps://gitorious.org/~detule/linux-msm-rhod/detules-linux-msm-rhod/commits/local-3.3
01:17.25jonprybut the branches will have the same name. so when i checkout a branch will i get detule's or mine?
01:18.24jonprysomehow i think it involves a git add origin
01:18.44ahigerdThe branches won't have the same name because the one from his will be remotes/heads/blah while yours will just be heads/blah
01:19.09jonprybut mine already tracks a different remote
01:19.12ahigerdOh
01:19.17ahigerdWell then that one's a bit harder XD
01:28.09ahigerdI suppose you could use "raw patch" and apply that
01:29.40ahigerdThat is to say, "git apply dc400e7eb3881f7c653934b9df9c46e7fa3b140d.patch"
01:45.36*** join/#htc-linux jonpry (~jon@adsl-74-235-205-26.mco.bellsouth.net)
01:45.44ahigerdWB
01:46.02ahigerdAs I was mentioning, you could download the "raw patch" and use git apply to bring it in
01:46.12ahigerdIt grabs all of the commit information from the original one, just as if you'd cherry-picked it
01:49.14jonpryi figured it out and pushed it
01:49.30jonpryand its built :p
01:51.38ahigerdGreat. I'll give it a try.
01:51.41ahigerd... crap.
01:51.46ahigerdI forgot to bring a USB cable with me. XD
01:51.51ahigerdGoing to have to do this the tedious way
01:53.14ahigerdUh...
01:53.15ahigerdpokes phone
01:53.21ahigerdOkay, now why is data busted on 3.2
01:54.22ahigerdOh. That's why. Bad reception. >.> *harrumph* Will have to do this tomorrow.
01:54.57jonpryhope it works
01:55.15ahigerdMe too. Thanks.

04:22.16ahigerdgrumbles
04:22.24ahigerdUsually toggling USB debugging a couple times make adb work
04:22.26ahigerdNot working now x.x
04:30.08ahigerdOkay, got it...
04:30.22ahigerdHere goes the neighborhood. 3.2.11 with power collapse disabled.
04:39.33ahigerdHmm.
04:39.35ahigerdThis is concerning.
04:39.50ahigerdI'm having the same data problems I was having before.
04:39.59ahigerdjonpry: ^
04:41.11ahigerdboots into WinMo for comparison, to rule out server/reception issues
05:20.38ahigerdWorking in WinMo...
05:24.36ahigerdHmm... Well, after booting back into GBX, it is at least WORKING in Android, but performance sucks and it looks like it may have gotten stuck halfway through a page load
05:38.00ahigerdQuestion: What's the difference between white and green status icons?
05:43.19ahigerdOkay, well, small relief here, I rebooted back into 3.2.11 a12d282 and the problem is persisting. I don't LIKE it ;) but at least it means it's not a regression.

18:45.38*** join/#htc-linux infernix (nix@unaffiliated/infernix)
18:46.33CptAJfor adb?
18:47.34Mohsen_Hassaniyes
18:48.04Mohsen_HassaniCptAJ, I already read something about sdk and running the server of adb, and I did them, but I still don't can't access any devices
18:48.57Mohsen_Hassanistill can't *
18:51.00CptAJThats basically what you need. Find an adb tutorial, it should walk you through installing the drivers from the SDK. Remember that these drivers are for the android device, so if your device is not actively running android and debugging is on (under settings > applications > development), it wont be seen by adb
18:52.46Mohsen_HassaniCptAJ, I can't access android, it hangs, stuck, it doesn't boot up, and I even't can't use the recovery in the HBoot. Some hours earlier I used adb in Windows for my cell phone and it worked good.
18:54.03Mohsen_HassaniCptAJ, So I think it's the way you said (developement thing)... I just want to do some harmful things to make my cell phone work...I bought it last night and I guess I broke it during upgrading it to android 4. I'ts a Sensation XE
18:56.12CptAJWell, adb starts during bootup but not from the beginning. Maybe you're not getting to a point where adb is up. But it looks like you have some more pressing issues there if the phone isn't booting
18:56.40CptAJDon't know anything about that phone though. Hang around, maybe someone else can help

22:30.40jonpryahigerd, i don't understand your bug report
22:30.52ahigerdDisregard it
22:31.07ahigerdThat is, disregard the way I said it
22:31.31jonpryok. so what is the problem?
22:31.57ahigerdI'll simplify: Data is working inconsistently. Booted to WinMo, it's fast and reliable; booted to Android (tested on both 3.2 and 3.3 kernels, with and without PC patch) some data works and some data doesn't.
22:32.17ahigerdIt seems to be consistent what data works and what data fails, but I don't see any obvious pattern.
22:32.28jonpryanything in dmesg?
22:32.52ahigerdI... didn't think to check. *sheepish*
22:33.16ahigerdBTW, what's the difference between white and green icons in the status bar?
22:33.23jonpryno idea
22:33.30jonpryis that correlated?
22:33.43ahigerdNot correlated at all; I observe the issue in both states
22:34.32ahigerdOkay, here we go. The Google homepage loads fine. http://mobile.hobbylobby.com/coupon.cfm (which I was trying to load for my wife at the store earlier) gets to ~80% progress in the status bar and then sits there with the throbber spinning.
22:34.38ahigerdConsistently reproducible.
22:34.57ahigerdAs mentioned, booting into WinMo, site loads on the first try, and swiftly.
22:35.31ahigerdOddly: The "Stop" button does nothing. It shows the "Stopping..." popup but the throbber doesn't quit and the progress bar doesn't go away.
22:35.50jonpryget logs sounds like the first course of action
22:35.53ahigerdOne GetLogs coming up.
22:36.17jonprymight be a browser issue
22:36.25ahigerdI'm also doing battery testing today, currently at 16 hours and just got critical battery notification
22:36.37ahigerd... and the upload to Pastebin finished, and the phone shut down. >.>
22:36.40ahigerdI didn't get the URL.
22:38.10ahigerdAnd this phone has problems booting back up after power loss x.x
22:38.20jonprymaybe run ping in adb while the browser is doing something
22:39.10ahigerddetule will probably be interested to know that I got 16 hours with moderate use
22:39.28ahigerdWhich is comparable to with idle PC turned on
22:39.49ahigerd(AFAICT. I haven't tested that one formally.)
22:40.07ahigerdAnyway, letting my phone charge for a few minutes so it can get past the WinMo bootsplash
22:40.30ahigerdIf I try to turn it on too soon, it just reboots at the WinMo bootsplash, sitting there cycling
22:41.09jonpryyeah that happens
