14:19.17tedI have a fairly new install of devuan i386 on a netbook which locked up and seems to be unable to boot now after power cycling the machine. It locked up once before and recovered after being power cycled. Could be the wifi driver but not really sure. I think I will probably have to boot into a live CD to get it going. If I pull off syslog or something where would I send it? This is an Acer Eeebook with an Atom processor and 1 gig ram.

16:30.56telst4rdetha, what I'm talking about is the fact that every single tx is kept in the chain (in btc) and it's very easy to watch behavior patterns to see who's who and connected with whom. That doesn't quite require a Utah data center.
16:35.28*** join/#devuan Pali (~pali@Maemo/community/contributor/Pali)
16:36.42dethatelst4r: kind of my point. it is not as easy as 'just looks at the transaction file', but if someone spends the effort to watch the chain and do analysis (s)he can deduce things
16:38.33telst4rSo the thing that bm is claimed to forget messages after a while could change things a little.

22:11.54parazydGup: you might be missing some gpio packages
22:12.01FlibberTGibbetthink so anyway
22:12.36parazydFlibberTGibbet: you should be able to make a hook/hack to restart wpa_supplicant when you disconnect eth0
22:12.49parazydi'll look into it. it's getting a bit late here now
22:12.54FlibberTGibbetparazyd: ah, sounds interesting
22:12.59FlibberTGibbetwhere are you based?
22:13.07parazydFlibberTGibbet: if you like, please make a issue on https://git.devuan.org/sdk/arm-sdk
22:13.10parazydamsterdma
22:13.22FlibberTGibbetnice, fave airport :)
22:13.31FlibberTGibbetparazyd: i will do that
22:13.31parazyd:))
22:13.36parazydyep, great
22:13.44FlibberTGibbethope to get to stop there sometime and meet the devuan team
22:13.48FlibberTGibbetthose based there anyway
22:14.06aitorparazyd, do you live in amsterdam
22:14.09parazydyes
22:15.08aitori've never been in netherlands
22:15.51parazydit's lovely. although there is only two seasons... rain and not-rain :D
22:16.27FlibberTGibbeta home from home for us brits then :D
22:16.45aitorlol, like here
22:16.51Gupparazyd, good idea :) there are a couple of python.gpio packages installed on the working one.
22:17.08Gupi'll boot the devuan card and see if they are missing
22:18.27parazydthey are not installed by default
22:18.28FlibberTGibbetparazyd: issue submitted
22:18.32FlibberTGibbetbye for now
22:18.33parazydFlibberTGibbet: ack
22:18.35parazydcya
22:19.05aitori still didn't try my idea for armhf, it's complicated... but i'll try
22:21.41aitori explained it to fsmithred in august
22:22.01fsmithredI sure don't remember what you said
22:22.16fsmithredno arms here
22:22.35fsmithredwell not counting swords and stuff
22:22.38aitordon't you
22:23.27fsmithredno, can you sum it up in a few words?
22:23.40aitorsorry, but i can't find the ? symbol, i have to copy'n'paste
22:23.47fsmithredok
22:23.52aitord-i
22:24.09fsmithredoh yeah, I sort of remember
22:24.18fsmithredbut I don't really understand how d-i works
22:24.39*** join/#devuan knidos (~knidos@88.245.243.227)
22:24.47aitorto run d-i from the sd card and install the system in the same sd card
22:24.55fsmithredoh yeah
22:25.33aitordo you remember the post about crunchbang in spanish
22:25.36fsmithredhow do you install on rpi? Do you boot from usb, and do you use a keyboard and screen like a normal installation?
22:26.28aitorno, i don't boot from a usb
22:27.14aitori use dd and toast it directly to the sd card
22:27.21fsmithredok
22:27.25aitorlike everybody
22:27.38fsmithredI recently added support for nvme disks to refractainstaller
22:27.47fsmithredbut I don't have an nvme disk to test
22:28.01fsmithredinstaller looks for /dev/nvdmXXXX
22:28.20fsmithredso for testing, I made it look for /dev/mmcXXX
22:28.33aitoroh
22:28.35fsmithredso in theory, you could use refractainstaller to install to sd card
22:28.42fsmithredI don't know if that's useful
22:28.58aitorit's interesting
22:29.30fsmithredwhen you use dd, does it all go in one partition?
22:29.45fsmithredand what bootloader does it use?
22:30.14aitorthere are two partitions
22:32.32aitorthe firmware and the rootfs
22:33.04fsmithredall in the same image, I assume

22:34.01fsmithredwhat bootloader?
22:34.04fsmithredsyslinux?
22:35.43aitoris it a test?
22:36.05fsmithredno, I just want to follow this line of thought a little bit
22:36.15fsmithredi.e. adapting installer for rpi
22:37.18fsmithredmight be useful, might be easy, and if not, I can stop thinking about it.

22:39.07aitoryou can download the image from here, but it's obsolete:

22:40.02Gupparazyd, looking likely.. the packages python-rpi.gpio and python3-rpi.gpio are missing and not available in repos.
22:40.09aitori can't remember the pasword :(
22:40.26aitori'll try to find it in dyne.org/lurker
22:40.43Gupi could compile from source

22:41.19parazydi can make packages, the issue makes me remember to do it :p
22:43.02Gupawesome, i shall do that, cheers
22:43.26parazydhellekin, nextime: if i use 'http://auto.mirror.devuan.org/merged jessie free' in /etc/apt/sources.list, will i get the packages from 'main'? or is there something else i have to do to have only FLOSS packages?
