04:17.33zendhi!, i've got more of an observation , than a Question, hope someone will get help from this. Wasted a day debugging a call disconnection issues. Don't ael reload etc... periodically... if your callcenter is live.
04:20.12zendI kept getting, sent to invalid extension: context, exten, priority. Soon after exiting a queue... then finally realized that, ael reload will rename extensions to a different name, Added extension 'sw_7999_0'...... etc..

14:04.40SamotWhat version of Asterisk were you running before?
14:05.24*** join/#asterisk chendy_ (~alexc@113.102.162.145)
14:08.12WIMPyWhy not?
14:09.27SamotI said probably not.
14:09.47SamotI'm not sure how Asterisk 13 would handle on 2.4 kernel.
14:10.04SamotWell, you would need DAHDI for the timing, for sure.
14:10.35*** join/#asterisk jkroon (~jkroon@uls-154-73-32-15.wall.uls.co.za)
14:10.41WIMPyAre you sure about that?
14:11.18SamotThe new timing source that replaced DAHDI time was from the 2.6 Kernel.
14:11.51WIMPyOk
14:14.19SamotBut a 15 year old box? That's probably 1.2 or 1.4 at the best. So trying to get the old box running again on Asterisk 13...
14:14.40SamotBe a lot of changes.
14:14.43WIMPyProbably even less.
14:14.53WIMPyDefinitely not 1.4.
14:15.07SamotYeah, I couldn't remember exactly when 1.4 was released.
14:15.22SamotSo I'm guessing 1.2 or around there..
14:15.29WIMPyneither, but it was when I started.

14:45.39Maliuta_probably worth starting from scratch with a modern kernel. If you've lost the configs then they need to be rebuilt anyhow (put them in a git repo and store them in multiple places)
14:47.54Maliuta_I started on 1.2, then did the 1.4 upgrade, the 1.6 upgrade, and most recently have set up a few 11 boxen. I do need to sort out my "spare" hardware to sort out what I need to put into my * box that died (not power supply, could be motherboard related). I tend to recycle kit well past what people consider "sane"

18:08.46SamotYou mean a softphone? Zoiper, Bria and I'm sure a few others.
18:19.20TazzNZSamot: yeah - softphone - I am hoping to find one that someone has confirmed works.
18:19.43SamotThey do.
18:19.54TazzNZMost of them claims to do it, but I have only found Jitsi so far and it's got other issues :)
18:21.35SamotI wouldn't recommend jitsi as a softphone personally.
18:21.45SamotZoiper does TLS just fine.
18:21.49SamotSo does Bria.
18:23.05TazzNZthanks - configuring zoiper as we speak :)
18:23.21TazzNZBria is paid only iirc ?
18:23.53SamotYes.
18:24.11SamotX-Lite doesn't do TLS.
18:24.21SamotZoiper is free.
18:24.41SamotI use Zoiper for most my testing, including TLS/SRTP.
18:25.04TazzNZyip - that is what I need to get going so thanks :)
