17:15.31ziz212Hi, How can we change global variable in each time when we need during dial plan processing, in middle of dial plan? Can we use set() to change global variable like channel variable?  Pls explain.
17:19.56[TK]D-FenderYes you can, that's why its GLOBAL
17:22.17*** join/#asterisk darkbasic (~quassel@niko.linuxsystems.it)
17:24.52ziz212Thanks Fender; How can we change the GLOBAL variable in middle of a dial plan? Can we use set() for that?
17:26.06ziz212Eg we need to change global variable in the half a way of the dial plan...
17:26.40[TK]D-FenderHow do you already set it?  Why do you think there is more than one way?
17:29.24ziz212In my dial plan i have 3 context. I need one variable that set to a value in one context need to be read in another context different channel and act according to it. So if I use channel variable and set() it , in the second place different context another channel that is show as empty.
17:29.59[TK]D-Fenderbecause that is clearly NOT a global variable.
17:30.30[TK]D-FenderSo did you actually go and read how to set a global varaible?
17:31.46ziz212What I need is set a variable globally and use it in another channel. This setting the GLOBAL variable is need to do in each call and that is in 4th line. Can I use set() to set this ?
17:32.26[TK]D-FenderI'll take that as "no I didn't bother reading how to do it".
17:32.43[TK]D-FenderYou should probably Google those 3 words.  You'd be amazed what comes up.
17:33.16ziz212Global variable are define in separate area under [GLOBAL]... ok I will read that Thanks for the help :)
17:33.43ziz212Global variable are define in separate area under [GLOBAL]. ----- this bothers me
17:33.45ziz212:)
17:37.57ziz212so We can use Set() to set the global variable or  SetGlobalVar () ? I am using Asterisk 1.8

17:44.28ziz212Do we need to define gloabal variable in initially before dial plan in special context called [GLOBALS]?
17:45.21[TK]D-FenderNo
17:45.31ziz212Is it okey have [GLOBALS] in each file in top most ?
17:46.26ziz212eg my extensions.conf and extensions.conf.othe  file that link to extensions.conf with include?
17:47.02[TK]D-FenderDoesn't matter where it is, and may only initialize it if it isn't set

21:45.10danfromukHi, I'm looking at some asterisk hardware and found that the Openvox cards are very cheap compared to others. Are they any good?
21:45.35WIMPyWhat kind of interface?
21:45.49danfromukOn what side? PCI and Analog
21:46.05WIMPyFor digital ones good is really a question of the drivers, only.
21:46.39danfromukAnalog, for a client who wants to be able to take advantage of the unlimited landline calls from his landline provider.
21:47.12WIMPyI'm only 41 years old. I don't know analog :-)
21:52.12danfromukAnyone over 41 here?
21:52.39jpsharpYou can get hardware cards or SIP gateways.
21:53.11danfromukjpsharp: I know. I was wondered if anyone has experience with Openvox analog cards.
21:53.13WIMPyI guess I could write the opposite as well. With pseudo landlines dleivered via ATAs, analog has become more available these days.
21:53.33jpsharpOh.  Sorry :).
21:53.41jpsharpNever done the openvox cards.
