04:17.59WhIteSidEHello all. I'm afraid I'm defeated by a "Red Alarm" on a TDM 400 card. It just recently started happening, after we switched to Surewest for our phone service. Does anyone know exactly what causes this?
04:19.01KyleKred alarm?
04:19.09KyleKis that from nagious or inside asterisk?
04:19.25WhIteSidEInside the asterisk console
04:19.54WhIteSidEIn addition, once that's happened, it doens't seem to detect hangups anymore, and we get 500 minute long VM messages
04:20.42KyleKeww
04:21.25WhIteSidEI've been looking at the logs, and the behavior is as follows (after a restart): Call comes in, and works, call terminates, next call causes red alarm and caller hears "fax machine noises", next call works, but hangup is not detected.
04:21.39KyleKsounds like the T1 settings aren't right :-/
04:22.19WhIteSidEIt's not a T1, it's a POTS. (TDM 400)
04:22.26KyleKoh
04:23.14WhIteSidECould it be related to signalling type? I thought that all modern phone systems use Kewl Start. Should I try using Loop Start? My understanding is that they are pretty much the same thing, just that Kewl Start has more features

09:03.16flohackHi! I have a system with asterisk 1.6 which segfaults once every few days. I do not get a core dump file however. I checked (sudo cat /proc/16507/limits) that the core file size is unlimited and checked the /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern file, it is set to 'core'. Asterisk is started with "/usr/sbin/asterisk -C /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf -g -U asterisk". Everything seems to be fine, but I still don't get a core dump, although other processes dump
09:03.17flohacktheir core just fine...Any ideas?

09:16.32kaldemarflohack: does user asterisk have write access to where it tries to write the dump?
09:17.12flohackhmm...valid point, core_pattern = core probably means /core.XXX
09:17.25flohackcan I set the core dump pattern per process?
09:23.45kaldemarthere might be other ways to get around it. how do you start asterisk?
09:26.30flohackfrom heartbeat, "/usr/sbin/asterisk -C /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf -g -U asterisk", but I think I'll just make a world writable /coredumps dir or simply set the pattern to /tmp/core

09:32.52flohackHmm... echo "/coredumps/core" > /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern does not have any effect (run within a rootshell), cat /proc/sys/kernel/core_pattern still shows 'core'...
09:36.13flohackOn another system (same distribution) it works just fine...very strange ideed

09:45.04obruThello, I got one problem... I use manager to invoke Originate command for dialing out, on asterisk 1.4 everything works ok, on asterisk 1.6 everything works the same except CDR is missing for that call. extension.conf is the same, script that invokes originate is the same, everything is the same, but CDR is missing in database... any clue ?
