08:28.52DroidManhello er body
08:28.59DroidMani need some help
08:29.20DroidManFor ones who have 1cm shift onscreen, you can try use this /dev/block/nanda dump from stock firmware with your updated firmware q88-nanda.tar Just mount /dev/block/nanda, it is in FAT, and replace script.bin with one from .tar. You can also try to use default kernel, its also is in nanda and can be easily replaced.
08:29.44DroidManhow to mount /dev/block/nanda in android????
08:30.47DroidMani tried to copy nanda to pc but file manager says unable to copy, adb pull says no directory or file found.. how to mount it????

20:06.40akashiiiHi Kitty :) Nice name.. is this a channel without a name or something?
20:07.16akashiiiI joined #portugues and it redirected me to this channel.
20:07.50TofuKittymore or less
20:08.19TofuKittythis channel is like a tiny little rest stop on the highway of freenode
20:09.23akashiii:) Interesting.. i'm trying out IRC after nearly 12 years now.. just wanted to get familiar with this all over again..
20:09.45akashiiiThanks for the intro
20:09.48TofuKittylol
20:10.04TofuKittyi just hang out here cause sometimes random conversations pop up
20:10.30akashiiiI remember back in the 90s... IRCs used to be packed with folks.. this place seems soo amazingly quiet
20:10.48akashiiiI guess IRC has matured .. and sort of.. calmed down..

20:12.53TofuKittydepends
20:12.58akashiiiDoes this particular chatroom have a topiic?
20:13.03akashiiitopic.. oops
20:13.42TofuKittythe topic is appearantly: [He thought his life was going to take a turn for the better, but I knew the only turns one makes in life are the ones that take you the wrong way down a one-way street to nowhere, where U-turns aren't permitted before 8PM except for city buses.]
20:14.06TofuKittyi don't really know what that means but its vaguely interesting
20:14.24akashiiiHmm.. deep philosophical matter indeed.. :) but I have no clue what that means..
20:14.25akashiii:)
20:14.52TofuKittyc;
20:15.39TofuKittyakashiii: so you were joining a portugese channel, are you from brazil/portugal?

20:24.01TofuKittyliving in a place that speaks a different language is probably the best way to learn one

20:24.53TofuKittyif you're in france i assume they'd teach european portugese not brazilian?

20:39.13akashiiiI generally follow 24hour clock.. it is less ambiguous
20:39.28TofuKittyi agree
20:39.50TofuKittyalmost everybody in america uses AM/PM tho
20:40.12akashiiiI wonder why.. ? .. perhaps a British legacy..

20:40.35TofuKittyamerica is so out of step with the world on all measurements :p
20:40.58akashiiiOh yes.. one of the only 2 or 3 countries that has not adopted the metric system.. :)
20:41.03TofuKittyi wish we used metric system
20:41.09TofuKittyits sooooo much simpler
20:41.16akashiiiI think you still have pounds, gallons, feet, miles.. etc.. right?`
20:41.25TofuKitty12 inches in a foot, 3 ft in a yard, 5280 feet in a mile...wtf?
20:41.30TofuKittyyep
20:41.36akashiiiI've never been to the US so I've no clue.. but that's what I"ve heard
20:42.19akashiiiIt's crazy.. even the Brits have moved on to Kilogrammes, Metres (except for road distances which are still in miles)..
20:43.03akashiiiI remember it only the USA, Burma and Liberia (or Sierra Leone - either one, not sure) that are still hanging on the imperial measurement
20:43.06akashiiimeasurements..
20:43.17TofuKittyit's liberia
20:43.39TofuKittyliberia has a lot of ties to the us because a lot of ex-slaves from the southern US moved there in the 1800s
20:44.13akashiii:) I live just about 10 kilometres away from the original "kilogramme" and "metre" :) It's in a place called Sevres (just outside Paris)
20:44.40akashiiiOh yes.. even Liberian flag looks like the American one.. (with one star instead of 50 on yours)
20:45.56akashiiiIt's funny what I read about Liberia some time back.. about how the "returnee" slaves considered (and their descendents continue to consider) themselves superieur to the local African native population..
20:46.24akashiiiBecause the american returnees considered themselves "civilized".. :

20:47.54TofuKittyhaha
20:48.06akashiii:)
20:48.56TofuKittyhonestly i think second language english speakers that are really good at the language often write better than first language speakers because they've spent time learning all the spelling and grammar rules whereas we use a ton of slang and stuff
20:49.08akashiiiI get mixed up these days between French and English spellings.. (I'm not a native French person , but have been living here for over a decade now)...
20:49.29akashiiiEnglish is not my first language either.. sort of..
20:50.28akashiiiWell.. one tends to pay more attention to the acquired language than to the native one...
20:50.33akashiiiI agree with you.
20:50.38TofuKittyyeah
20:51.26akashiiiBut what really is fascinating is that many people that I interact with (especially from the US) have a problem with "then" and "than".. kind of basic things, that I find odd
20:51.30TofuKittyi heard about some study once where they had bilingual math or engineering (i forget which) students do word problems in their first and second languages and they did significantly better in the 2nd language because they had to slow down and think about it more
20:52.08akashiiiVery true indeed...
20:53.21akashiiiHave you ever been to France? All the education here is in French medium.. (all the mathematics, science.. everything)... and for a foreigner studying in France, things can get complicated quite rapidly..

21:10.21akashiiiand Sandy's aftermath..
