22:38.05kapookeeWhen one goes from wired to wireless ethernet on the slug, do you have to change anything other than /etc/network/interfaces?
22:38.34kapookeeIt runs fine if I bring up the wireless manually.  When I change /etc/network/interfaces and reboot it hangs with..
22:38.38kapookeeADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth1: link is not ready
22:38.58kapookeeaccording to dmesg.
22:45.11mwesterkapookee: might be module loading issue; perhaps the necessary modules are not available or loaded at the time the system processes the /etc/network/interfaces file at boot.
22:45.33mwesterWorks ok for me (atheros wireless, slugosbe 4.4)
22:46.11mwesterI did have to do an "ifup ath0" before I could "iwconfig" the interface at all, though.
22:46.30mwester(it even works with WPA!)
22:49.22kapookeeYea, but that's via the command line, right?  What about getting it to start at boot?
22:49.33kapookee..or am I missing something?
22:51.41kapookeeoops, missed one of you lines. :-)  I'll check the "module loading issue".  Thanks.
22:53.47mwesterThe ifup was done via the "ifup" script that's run when /etc/network/interfaces is processed.  I also start wpa_supplicant in that script to get wpa to work; I'm sure there's a better way, but that hack worked for me.
23:18.09rwhitbymwester: can you put the contents of your /etc/network/interfaces file on the wiki somewhere?
23:19.59kapookeeThat *would* be helpful!
23:21.36rwhitbyI've done something similar, including bridging eth0 and wireless.  I can add that stuff to the same page.
23:21.56rwhitby(I don't have it working at the moment, but I have drips and drabs of the configuration files lying around)
