01:58.09hussamWhat is needed for dolphin to show pdf thumbnails?
01:58.42*** join/#kde zebrag (~inkbottle@aaubervilliers-654-1-185-157.w83-200.abo.wanadoo.fr)
02:02.43JanKusanagiI'm not sure it can...
02:03.08hussamOk.
02:03.32JanKusanagiat least mine doesn't have PDF under the preview settings
02:04.12Eddi|zuHausei would have assumed it uses some kind of plugin system where you could provide different thumbnail-makers
02:04.41sarnoldthe arch wiki suggests you may be right about plugins https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dolphin#File_previews
02:05.33JanKusanagiI'm checking one possibly-related package over here, let's see
02:05.41*** join/#kde uniquerockrz (~uniqueroc@static.54.179.203.116.clients.your-server.de)
02:06.06hussamI'm running arch.
02:06.22hussamon several machines.
02:06.27sarnoldoh nice then the instructions are more directly useful to you :) hehe
02:06.53sarnoldarch wiki is often the most up to date of the various distro wikis but sometimes it's not terribly useful, package names differ, or are built differently, etc..
02:07.32Eddi|zuHauseit depends how well you can extrapolate those things
02:07.52hussamI know. I have gnome, xfce, and now kde on my third desktop installed via directions from arch wiki.
02:08.20JanKusanagiyep, indeed, installing kdegraphics-thumbnailers (in Mageia) adds the option to preview PDF
02:08.28sarnoldyeah; normally it works well enough that I keep visiting arch wiki to learn things :)
02:09.25hussamok, I can see pdf previews now.

18:42.56dreamerx-M<hussam "Is it normal for screen lockers "> I guess its a security issue lets say you got a hosted server on your system and someone comes in your room and doesnt want to hear the noise from your system he can power it down and you loose your server or anything you left it doing
18:43.46dreamerx-Mbut then again there is the physical button or if its a tower there is the switch and power cord so I think it is only usefull on a laptop where you have disabled the power button functionality
18:44.22dreamerx-Mfor the button to be there in lock screen and disabled that means you can enable it somewhere in security settings
18:44.59SGOravaeven on laptops, if you hold it for a while it will force poweroff

18:50.37thiagoI wouldn't
18:50.47thiagoif you have a hard crash, it's one of the ways of coming back
18:50.58thiagoother than to unplug and wait for the battery to run out
18:51.08dreamerx-Mif you have a pc you could remove the pin of the power button and when you want to start the pc to physicly add the pin or just bridge the pins somehow if it is a laptop you could remove the button but to boot it up you should figure out a way maybe put a lock on the button and if you remove the lock the only you can press it?
18:51.40dreamerx-Mthiago:  well if you put a lock on it you can still use it by unlocking the lock

18:54.30dreamerx-Motherwise you should find a way your system to be out of reach of anyone or make a physical lock on the button somehow
18:54.39SGOravayou know, friend are worst ...
18:55.11dreamerx-Myeah one way to make a laptop not be closed by anyone is to have a cage that is locked
