00:00.26JanKusanagiwell, they don't need to be made by KDE; probably any Qt-based program would respect proper floating-point scaling
00:00.52CuCHulaindCopy
00:07.23CuCHulaindJanKusanagi, My toolbar icons on the left (pinned programs) are the size I want, presumably from when I configured it and increased the vertical size, the icons on the right are smaller however (wifi, battery power, etc), how do I inrease the size of these?
00:08.02JanKusanagiI guess the ones on the right are the ones _inside_ the system tray
00:08.24JanKusanagiand I don't think you can make them bigger (beyond what the global scaling does)
00:08.28CuCHulaindIC
00:08.50JanKusanagisome of them are regular plasmoids that you could add by themselves to the panel, _outside_ the system tray
00:09.09JanKusanagithen they would be like any other icon on the panel (presumably, like the ones you "have on the left")
00:09.18*** join/#kde jazka (jaska@b0xi.eu)
00:09.21JanKusanagiI'm assuming you're calling the panel "toolbar"
00:09.28CuCHulaindsorry, yes
00:10.03JanKusanagifor the future, "toolbars" are something used inside programs, usually right below the menu bar

00:10.23CuCHulaindUnderstood. Been around windows users too much
00:10.38JanKusanagiAFAIK, "toolbar" means that on mswindows too =)
00:11.06JanKusanagiwhat in Plasma Desktop we call "a panel", they call "a task bar"
00:11.08*** join/#kde octet (~octet@flagtism.drunkensailor.org)
00:11.22CuCHulaindTask bar is what I was looking for
00:12.32JanKusanagiwell, in Plasma we have panels xD
00:13.10JanKusanagithe default panel has a "task manager" widget, but you can have more panels, with or without a task manager widget

00:26.14CuCHulaindJanKusanagi, you mentioned earlier changing the DPI setting. The DPI setting in the fonts section? What does this do exactly?
00:27.52JanKusanagiit changes the relationship between what's a "font point" and what's a pixel on screen
00:28.06CuCHulaindok
00:28.09JanKusanagiDPI means dots-per-inch
00:28.38JanKusanagiso it affects how many pixels will be used to "fill" a physical inch of the screen surface, so to speak
00:29.22JanKusanagihowever, if you're going to use "global scaling" you should probably not change font DPI settings, or not by much
00:30.46CuCHulaindReading up on it now (72 pt = 1" etc)

06:11.53pingufanGood morning.    I use kmail since many years.  Since approx. 2-3 weeks I do not get automated mails displayed any more. The sender has for sure changed nothing, and I can also ensure that nothing changed on my dovecot.   When I press "V" to see the mail source, the complete content shows up, so the mail has completely arrived but is not displayed.   Older mails (same mail!) do show up!
06:12.05pingufanWhat can be the reason? it is simply nasty.

If I leave /home mounted on the same FS as / I can login fine, but I would like to move /home to a different partition, and I attempt to login with an account whose home is on that partition plasmashell crashes. I've tried creating a brand new account and also copying the /home/<user> from root which works, and it still doesn't work. I'm not on
15:05.13dorirod-Mthat system right now,but if anyone can think of anything to try please let me know. Thanks
15:06.06dorirod-Mbtw, that partition works fine on previous 16 LTS version of Kubuntu so no corruption of FS or partition

15:07.38dorirod-Mthe apps run, but none of the UI is available, at some point I was able to run firefox and konsole, but now they're gone and I can't bring them up
