10:49.21achillionCan't remember if there's a setting for this.  Can't find one right now anyway.
10:52.07achillionisomari_: hm, now that I think about it, active screen might be an issue.
10:52.24achillionSince in rules you can specify screen number, but active screen changes...
10:53.10achillionThat said, for me it looks like new windows do open on the active screen by default

11:00.43isomari_achillion: but that's not happening for me. I have a laptop and an external monitor. the externall monitor has 2 inputs. 1 I use for the laptop 2nd screen and the other for another system. If, the external is on the other system and I on app on the laptop, it often goes to the external monitor which may be currently showing another system.
11:01.02isomari_i hope that's not confusing.
11:01.10achillionNo I think I get it
11:01.48isomari_so it's annoying to have to have to switch the monito to the second input.
11:02.02achillionis it possible the active screen at the time is the other one though?  For instance, might there be a window on the other screen that has focus making it the active screen?
11:03.06isomari_possible but unlikely seeing that I rarely use it at work. At home it's only the laptop and the external which is always visible.
11:03.15achillionisomari_: so back to the original suggestion, you could force new windows to always open on screen 1, regardless of whether it's the "active" one or not.
11:03.26*** join/#kde boiko (~boiko@168.194.163.200)
11:03.40isomari_that may work but would be a pain in the neck when I'm home.
11:03.41achillionanother workaround might be to bind a key for "window to next screen" and just hit it whenever a focused window is there (it's a pretty useful shortcut in general :) )
11:04.04isomari_that sounds promising.
11:04.17achillionI use it a lot
11:04.47isomari_How would that work? Trying to siwtch it on the pager does not work. That would have been ideal.
11:05.55isomari_is there any tool that lists all open windows and allows you to move them?
11:07.04achillionwell the alt tab switcher shows all open windows (or can be made to), so I guess you would select the window from the other screen, hit the next-screen shortcut, and it would move to the visible screen
11:07.27isomari_I'll look into that. Thanks
11:08.17achillionI wonder if it would be simpler to disable the second screen when you're not using it
11:08.26achillionunless I guess that might mess up your panel layouts?
11:08.43isomari_achillion: because onec in a blue moon I need it.  :-)
11:08.48achillionright
11:09.32isomari_which brings me to another issue. If I boot my laptop without a second monitor, my panels are superimposed.
11:09.47isomari_very disturbing
11:10.24isomari_sometimes even my wallpapers get switched.

11:11.05isomari_not at all. But I live with it. overall I love plasma. Nothing is perfect.
11:11.05achillionback when I had similar work layouts, I gave up on having panels on the second screen
11:11.14isomari_hmmm
11:11.42isomari_Would activites help? I never used them before.
11:12.05achillionI think they might.  I haven't used them either.  I imagine it's possible to have a single screen activity and a dual screen one
11:12.35isomari_I think it's time to dig into that. I've been putting it off for years.

21:35.06jankusanagi_but in your question in #plasma you said "Plasma Browser Integration", which already was the correct name xD
21:35.59AzimothHi, anyone available to help me figuring out why my firefox browser integration doesn't work? ;P

21:38.42jankusanagi_I've never even tried PBI xD
21:38.48jankusanagi_it's really not something I'm interested in
21:39.02jankusanagi_I'm happy having the browser being _very_ separate from my Plasma Desktop :D
21:39.20Azimothnp, I just feel like I'm missing something obvious... from the right point of view...
21:39.43jankusanagi_I only know you need two pieces, the "Plasma part" and the browser extension for whatever browser you use
21:39.50jankusanagi_beyond that...

21:40.51Azimothjankusanagi_: before the reinstall it showed up automatically (that's how I learned about it^^)
21:42.27jankusanagi_you said you used Gentoo, right? did you ask in their channel/s?
