22:12.32JanKusanagisetting flat volumes to off (or maybe on) in the pulseaudio configuration file
22:12.50JanKusanagior you could disable those sounds altogether, of course
22:14.07user___I have already disabled flat volumes, but disabling sound altogether just isn't an option for me
22:14.15user___Is there really just no other solution?
22:14.26JanKusanaginot all sound, just the sounds of whatever notification bothers you
22:14.54JanKusanagiI've never had that problem, but from what I've seen here, the issue is PA's flat volumes thing, and that usually fixes it
22:15.01JanKusanagiothers might remember better

22:23.17user__any update since I left for a reboot?
22:24.13JanKusanagiassuming you read everything I said, no
22:25.04cmacq2[m]Notification souns are supposed to be tagged properly, and their volume should controlled through the corresponding volume slider. If that doesn't happen for you, Phonon/backend is probably classifying the sound as media (music or video). IIRC the VLC backend used to mess this up. You might want to switch to GStreamer
22:26.04user__how do I do that?
22:29.09JanKusanagiinteresting, I've never had that issue with the VLC backend, which in my experience is way better than the Gstreamer backend xD
22:29.39user__but how do I switch to gstreamer?
22:30.29JanKusanagijust go to "Audio and Video" in Plasma's system settings
