00:55.23elvisthedjHi! I'm running konsole with TERM=xterm-256color, but if I create a shortcut to a terminal app and "Run In Terminal", it defaults to 8 colors.  Starting Konsole and then running the app works fine. Does this skip .bashrc when you do a shortcut to a terminal app?  I made a shortcut to "tput colors" and it says 8

09:59.20BrainWorkit only re-calculates at the end of each file, like it's a blocking operation, so for 99% of the time it says "0 B/s" for speed, and an empty graph, although its copying a lot, quickly.

19:27.24AnatzumIs it possible to use the keyboard shortcuts for clementine and have it show up on the lock screen? Amarok and Audacious do this. Since clementine is a fork of an older amarok is there any particular reason it doesn't? I'm on arch so not sure if that has anything to do with it.
19:28.04oprypinwait what? there are things that can show up on the lock screen?
19:28.33oprypinclementine is not kde fwiw

19:29.07asturm5.10
19:29.26oprypintoo bad i was sold on an evil online streaming service
19:30.03Anatzumsince audacious works with it and its even further from kde then clementine i was just curious if its just me that its not working for or its just like that.
19:30.39tosky"Media controls on lock screen" -> https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.10.0.php
19:30.50toskynew in Plasma 5.10, and as hinted it uses MPRIS
19:31.17oprypinAnatzum, asturm is saying "mpris" - that's what makes it tick,  if clementine wants to implement that, it'll work
19:32.22toskyit would be strange if clementine did not implement it

22:01.54vvandeI'm using KDE 4.14 and Plasma 4.11 and the clock plasmoid skips seconds.
22:02.30vvandeActually it's jerky - has a slight delay every 5 seconds or so.
22:02.36vvandeHow to fix?
22:13.47oprypinvvande, something there needs to be replaced
22:13.56oprypinlike the OS or the whole computer
22:14.45*** join/#kde asturm (~andreas@gentoo/developer/asturm)
22:14.45M_aDvvande: which distro?
22:14.45oprypinas i understand the implementation of the clock in kde 4  what it does is  "update the display, sleep 1 second, repeat"
22:15.53M_aDKDE 4.14 and plasma 4.11 sound so old right now :)
22:15.53oprypinso, since the interval ends up being more than 1 second, it's broken by definition, but the weaker your computer is, the more often it will be delayed
22:16.14oprypinno such problem in plasma 5 btw

22:28.34LazyGnollKDE 4.14 is like 4 or 5 years old
22:28.36vvandemy computer is not very powerful, I5-2400 3.10GHz w/ 16GB ram
22:29.06vvandeLazyGnoll: perhaps for Linux
22:30.15M_aDpowerfull enough imo
22:30.22LazyGnollI'd assume i5 should be more than enough for something as simple as clock to work properly, yeah
22:30.47vvandequad core  should run a clock, yes
22:31.08vvandeI din't have a clock problem in 1987
22:31.11vvandelol
22:31.44vvandeWhat's relevant here, is that upon my recent update, this problem went away for a day or two. But it's back.
22:31.45LazyGnollthat could be a video driver/compositing related problem or just a bug of some sort
22:32.04vvandeI've had the problem for some years now.
22:32.18vvandeit's just that it went away for a short while that I got hope again
22:32.43oprypinI described the core problem, it can't go away, it can just be made worse. what makes the delay worse is a mystery, undeniably
22:32.43vvandeLazyGnoll: video driver eh? Interesting

22:33.33vvandeI thought it had to do with Firefox being heavily loaded, because I do that. But turns out to not be the cae.

22:34.31LazyGnollit's just a wild guess, you can try enabling/disabling desktop effects and see if it changes anything
22:34.49vvandeas an experiment, it's worth a try - thanks
22:35.10vvandeI'll do that in a bit.
22:37.02vvandeBTW, there's a (presumably) related problem; when I click the desktop to get my app menu, there's a delay, and hoovering over sections there's a 2 second delay before sub-menus display.
