08:37.33TuorThe issue is: I have no bar anymore. (where i can click to switch windows or activity). alt+tab is not working. the only thing working is: alt+space (krunner).
08:37.48hateballTuor: do you usually start with a new or restored session?
08:37.59hateballif maybe something in the restored session is crashing on login

08:40.23Tuorhateball, they are gone from the start.
08:40.32TuorI never see them when I login.

08:41.24TuorI have the default bar again.
08:41.33Tuori can work with this.
08:42.11TuorI would just like to find out why this happened... I have customized my bar a bit.
08:42.47TuorThx for helping @all. Maybe we can find out what the problem was...
08:42.51hateballprobably a defective plasmoid then
08:43.00leszekTuor: I guess the config got f*cked up. You could try pasting the config somewhere from ~/.config/plasma-applets*
08:43.13Tuorsec
08:43.40leszekusually a broken plasmoid should only leave a broken icon in the panel but not make the whole panel dissappear. But everything can happen with thirdparty stuff

09:14.13leszekTuor: so in theory you could make this panel visible again by editing the config file and set lastScreen=0 for that panel. So from the position tag I see now the new one and the old one will be positioned overlapping each other

19:05.36kafloopascopeDoes anyone know a good konsole replacement? I still use it, but it's driving me crazy with implicit eating up of certain keys like shift, and now a lot of breakage with the new tmux version. I don't need tabs or splitting, just looking for real transparency, lightweight, ligature/ligation support, color scheme support, and keyboard-shortcuts for changing the font size.
19:07.11boombatowercan't find anything so I'll assume it hasn't been done, but does anyone know if konsole has ansi (or other) method of creating a link without having to display entire url?
19:07.15boombatowerlike https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/1fr32c/proposed_new_ansi_escape_sequences_for_hyperlinks/
19:07.18toskykafloopascope: I don't have an answer, but as tmux user I was curious, which kind of breakages (and which version of tmux)?
19:08.04annadanekafloopascope, https://imgur.com/a/frCZY
19:09.19kafloopascopetosky, I prefer to use konsole's scrolling when I can, and new tmux loses scrollback lines even if you don't switch pane/window/whatever. But more extreme, simply cat-ing large files clobbers over itself or the prompt or something. https://streamable.com/d1hdi

23:29.29kdeuserSo, I'm using a vaguely-up-to-date "kde5", gentoo's kde-meta 16.12.2. All of a sudden, Alt+Tab, and window resize/move have stopped working.
23:29.43kdeuserAlt+F3 works, new windows can be created
23:30.10kdeuserI've restarted kwin (kwin_x11 --replace), but that didn't help. Switching desktops works. Krunner works.
23:30.20kdeuserAny idea what might be up, or what I might look at to figure what the hell happened?
23:30.45kdeuser(The keyboard shortcuts for the relevant actions are still in place. Clearing them and resetting them back to their previous value didn't help.)
23:31.20kdeuserOh, and clicking on the titlebar of a window raises it to the top of the stack, as expected.
23:32.05*** join/#kde bardsong (~bardsong@bard.dndgamer.org)
23:32.08kdeuserYeah, all the stack manipulation operations (push to bottom, bring to top) work. Alt+tab, resize, and move don't.
23:32.32Zrenkdeuser, Open KSysGuard, how many instances of kwin?
23:33.10kdeuserZren, there's one instance of kwin_x11
23:33.35kdeuserNo other proc running with kwin in the name

23:35.27kdeuserhmm
23:35.52kdeuserDoing the same thing, but using "kwrapper5 kwin_x11 -replace" restored window moving.
23:36.23kdeuser(er --replace)
23:37.28kdeuserZren,  What's kwrapper5? Is there some magic that it does that would have solved my problem, or was this just coincidence?
23:38.09kdeuserZren, OH, THIS IS WEIRD!
23:38.31kdeuserZren, If I close the terminal window that kwin_x11 was run from, window move/resize stops working.
23:38.40kdeuserIf I leave it open, then it stays working.
23:39.02Zrenuh
23:39.24kdeuserZren, (and yeah, I used "&" to run kwin detached)
23:39.26Zrenkstart5 kwin_x11 --replace?
23:39.32Zrenoh
23:39.32kdeuser*tries that*
23:39.38Zreniunno then
23:39.53kdeuser"Unknown option 'replace'."
23:40.19Zrenshrugs
23:40.31ZrenI guess it though it was a kstart5 param
23:40.38kdeuserAh. kstart5 doesn't correctly parse its args. needed --
23:40.57kdeuserhmm, using kstart5 might have worked
23:41.17Zrentry kwin_x11 --replace & disown
23:42.02kdeuserZren, bah. Whatever kstart5 did to kwin appears to have stuck. I can't repro the problem anymore.
23:42.08kdeuser(assuming that it wasn't coincidence)

23:54.35kdeuserZren, yeah... if I don't switch desktops, window resize/move/alt+tab works. The second I switch desktops it stopps working and kwin starts emitting the BadWindow messages every time I try to do those things. kwin's responsible for desktop switching too, right?
23:58.28Zrenprobably
23:59.30Zrena relog will fix it certainly, but you can keep trying to debug it if you want to narrow down on it
