Strangely, whilst it is set to (%u@%H) : %w the %u (user name) and %h (remote hostname short) seems to be completely random. I'm currently connected to a host with a ssh session in my konsole, and no username is displayed and the remote hostname is not the correct one. Is that a known bug ? Should I fill in a bug report ?

11:28.50David_MHi. I tried to use Kubuntu, KDE Neon and Fedora but I had issues. In Kubuntu and Fedora I had jumping interface. It was kwin issue as I found. On KDE Neon I had turn off issue. My PC either didn't want to turn off or process took a long time. So my question is on which distributuin I can get the best KDE expirience? I'm using AMD Phenom processor, 4 GB RAM and Radeon HD6750 card.
11:29.40*** join/#kde mawiegand (~marcel@p5088C986.dip0.t-ipconnect.de)
11:30.41leszekDavid_M: If you have kde neon still installed I would suggest upgrading the kernel to the latest vanilla kernel or using the 4.8 kernel from ubuntu yakkety
11:31.30leszekas for the shutdown time did you had that problem with logging out or really after logged out it kept you waiting on the plymouth shutdown screen ?
11:34.11David_MSo that was kernel issue? My guess is the issue is with conflict between compiz and kwin as I installed Fedora with MATE and then replaced it with Plasma and I didn't liked Fedora and replaced it with Linux Mint MATE and then installed Plasma. But Linux Mint doesn't look professional, so I removed all Mint's crap and installed kubuntu-desktop and got kwin problems. I had to replace it with XFCE.
11:35.47David_MAs I remember it could stuck at Plymouth or systemd. On Fedora I fixed jumping interface by switching OpenGL from 2.0 to 3.1 and it helped temporaly. But the issue repeated next day.
11:35.49leszekDavid_M: I was talking about KDE Neon and suggested to install a new kernel if you have shutdown issues. But as my second question suggests it might have been a different issue. I am not sure as I don't know where it actually wasted time

18:55.16TaokiI just found out that you can use "xprop -f _KDE_NET_WM_BLUR_BEHIND_REGION 32c -set _KDE_NET_WM_BLUR_BEHIND_REGION 0" in order to make any transparent window use the blur effect. I definitely want to have this on Konsule and KVIrc! However, is it possible to automate it in a better way, so I don't have to do it manually?
18:55.28TaokiLike is it possible to launch the program itself with it as an argument?
18:56.01TaokiEven better... could I add a line with it in ~/.profilerc to make it automatically work for all windows (like it should be anyway)?

19:08.45SporkWitchboth
19:09.09u53rif i recall correctly i was able to snap windows edge to resize
19:09.21SporkWitchit was a very strange question, so it was both answering what you asked (yes, one typically resizes windows by moving the cursor to the border), and asking what thereal question is, since that clearly couldn't be it

19:10.27SporkWitchah, you mean screen border, not window border; yes, if you drag it near the window borders it should snap (configurable in settings, including how aggressive it is), and top-center, or middle-sides for maximize and half-screen tile, respectively
19:10.31SporkWitch(again, by defaults)

23:23.08kanraoserious question: what's the point of spending time and effort on making KDE Neon instead of fixing and improving KDE5? :o
23:24.00kanraoI can think of many improvements to be done to Dolphin for example
23:24.30kanrao(favourite file manager by far but still lacking in places)
23:46.02valoriekanrao: the people producing neon are plasma developers as well
23:46.13valoriebtw, there is no "kde5"
23:46.44valorieafaik Dolphin is getting a new maintainer
23:46.53valorieso look for further improvements
23:47.07valorieit's already rather awesome IMO
23:47.18valorieand I was a slow adopter of it back in the day
23:56.04kanraowell, if they're the same people, my point still stands. It feels like a bit of a waste of time (from my point of view, I'm probably clueless)
