03:15.12teledynhow to configure the file save dialogs for gtk apps?
03:15.25teledynWalex: for example the file save dialogs in Firefox - they do not adhere to the view settings, favorites, etc. that I have for Dolphin.  They are totally different.  Very annoying!
03:16.53kdepepoteledyn, Firefox is no Qt application.
03:23.19ZrenBleh, this is way too complicated. Nuff for one night. If you've any ideas how to do this properly, ping me. https://streamable.com/h9us

03:27.44teledynkdepepo: that's exactly my point.  its using gtk settings for file save dialog.  so if i'm using kde, how can i configure it?
03:28.34teledynkdepepo: under System Settings there's a section for GTK app style but nothing for config of file dialogs
03:29.05teledynfor example change from detail view to icon or list view.  add favorites to the dialog.  etc.
03:29.29teledynits like being locked into one view only
03:29.42kdepepothe GTK style settings won't affect the file dialog. If you are using GTK applications, you have to get used to the GTK file dialog.
03:30.11teledynkdepepo: no i think there's some way to change it, maybe gconf settings or a special app

03:30.42kdepepoask in a Firefox forum if there is a plugin to use the KDE dialog
03:30.58teledynkdepepo: that's a good idea.  will check
03:31.06kdepepobeware that if it exists, it is a hack
03:31.40teledynor maybe i should go to a gnome forum and they would know how to change the settings
03:31.46kafloopascopekdepepo, I reported the kwin bug at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368827
03:34.48kafloopascopeteledyn, what do you want to change? when the dialog is up, you can drag favorites over to its sidebar
03:37.01teledynkafloopascope: i'm talking about gtk dialogs in apps like firefox
03:37.16kafloopascopeteledyn, I know, what do you want to change about them?
03:37.27teledyni'm guess if you use gnome that you can configure the view settings.  but in kde i'm stuck on how
03:37.42Zrenyou can add gtk bookmarks by dragging a folder to the panel
03:37.44teledynkafloopascope: change from detail to compact or icon view
03:38.30teledynZren: thank you that part i got
03:39.32kafloopascopeteledyn, I'm not sure if it's the same for gtk3, but I notice I've got ~/.config/gtk-2.0/gtkfilechooser.ini on my system, it might be possible with something like that. I'm looking further
03:41.35teledynkafloopascope: thanks.  another example is the file attach dialog with Thunderbird.  it is set to list but annoying since i usually need to attach pictures and want icon or compact with preview
03:41.37boombatowerkdev5 still creates .kdev4 files :)
03:42.44ZrenIt's ~/.gtk-bookmarks
03:44.24kafloopascopeteledyn, I can see these settings with dconf-editor, but I still don't see the solution: http://i.imgur.com/6YPfm3j.png
03:45.58kafloopascopeteledyn, huh, found some gtk2 hack for thumbnails in the file chooser . . . I had no idea the gtk file chooser was this limited: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gtk2-patched-filechooser-icon-view/
03:47.12teledynkafloopascope: yes i'm surprised at that also.  i was kind of hoping there'd be some keyboard shortcut to cyle through the various view types
03:48.11teledyntoo bad FF and TB are tied to gtk  considering how much more advanced kde is
03:48.20kafloopascopeteledyn, not sure if this works for gtk3, but check this out: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kgtk/

03:51.51kafloopascopeteledyn, I just tested, I couldn't launch FF with it: GTK+ 2.x symbols detected. Using GTK+ 2.x and GTK+ 3 in the same process is not supported

08:54.29alvinGuys, is there anyone who can tell me more about https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359226 I know this is a libssh bug, and not KDE, but libssh development is very slow. In the meantime, the SFTP kioslave is unuseable. (I really need ProxyCommand because most places don't have IPv6 yet here)
08:56.44rindolfalvin: the reproduction recipe there is incomplete.
08:57.14alvinIt is? What could be missing then?
08:57.45rindolfalvin: well, I don't understand how to reproduce it.
08:58.53alvinWell, the host you want to reach has to be behind an SSH jumphost. So you'll have the 'ProxyCommand' option in ~/.ssh/config for that host. That will work fine with OpenSSH and previous versions of libssh with SFTP kioslave, but no longer. You will not be able to connect with the current versions.
09:00.17alvinThe example in the description looks correct. His 'destination' can't be reached using sftp:// KIO because he needs the ProxyCommand option to an intermediate server.

22:38.55JustinHitlastriker: I need that exact command
22:39.00strikerit's either 'systemctl suspend' or 'systemctl hibernate'
22:39.35JustinHitlastriker: where can I find out for sure ? the have to be config somwhere, where it says exact command
22:40.10strikerJustinHitla: it's one of those for sure.  that's systemd's default method for suspending and hibernating
22:40.16JustinHitlabecause for some reason that button worked once, but when I press it next time it just locks the screen without sleeping
22:40.32strikerthat sounds like a bug

23:05.46topcydeI've been using Linux for a few years no w and decided to try KDE.  It's aright as an interface but how do I make the taskbar and system screen more magnified?  I don't want to go to a lower resolution I just have my screens positioned a little bit further away than the typical ergonomic of arms length.
23:06.39azlevHi. Instead of a screenlock, after idle for 5 minutes, I get a black screen and cursor and I need to kill my X. It started to happen this week after a fedora 24 update. KDE 5.7.4
23:07.12azlevAny hint how can I fix it?

23:22.48topcydeZren: I've been fiddling with the settings in for the display and chose a different workspace desktop theme than air but I didn't notice a dpi setting, but I"m afraid that would also effect the resolution of models in CAD software.  I've read the help section but it didn't seem to have what I was looking for.  Is there a website besides kde.org that the guru's use for referencing whoto's?
