10:39.34teotwakiHi, I'm running plasma 5.3.2 on fedora 22, and I noticed that if I try to use the nvidia-settings generated xorg.conf, the plasma components crash one after the other upon login, and I don't get a desktop. However, if I run without any xorg.conf file, and let xorg autoconfigure itself, no issues, everything runs fine. I've tried forcing the compositor to OGL 2 and 3.2, no change. Any ideas?

12:39.36kalibHello guys. As youknow, everytime you check kde.org page, you´ll receive info about kde softwares. Some randon software will show up. Well, today (just now) I saw superkaramba. o.O I really didn´t know the project was still alive and working. I mean, the last time I used or even heard about it was with KDE 3.x. I thought the plasmoids, since kde 4.0 were the option and sup0erkaramba was done. So, the real
12:39.39kalibquestion is: Is it working fine with plasma 5?

19:51.04Sauerlandwhy?
19:52.25wm4because there's no choice to disable it?
19:52.58Sauerlandno, you have to switch to the programm, you want to disable the sound
19:54.37wm4wiping ~/.config/kde.org/libphonon.conf seems to help
19:54.38wm4good enough
19:55.52Sauerlandmurks
19:59.30hexnewbiewm4: That probably broke all sound in phonon-enabled apps, not just notifications. And (correct me if I am wrong), but I think it will start notifying you again once your sound cards are rediscovered
20:00.15wm4so what, fuck phono, I don't need it
20:00.23wm4but the latter part is bad
20:00.46wm4I don't need sudden interruptions that are twice as loud as the music I'm listening too
20:00.51wm4(what the fuck)
20:01.41hexnewbieThe "twice as loud" is a PulseAudio feature, you need to configure PulseAudio to use flat volume IIRC
20:02.14wm4time to uninstall pulseaudio
20:02.24hexnewbieWhy didn't you select "No audio output" for the notifications in systemsettings?
20:02.37wm4because there's no such selection
20:02.53hexnewbieIt's in player settings
20:02.56wm4you can select the pulseaudio sound server, that is all
20:02.59hexnewbieOn KDE 4, at least
20:03.20wm4I see no such setting either
20:03.43Sauerlandyou can select it , but not at the sound settings.......
20:04.04hexnewbieIt's in the notification settings, not multimedia settings
20:05.08wm4in the notification settings I see a bunch of confusing stuff
20:05.47*** join/#kde renards (~fox@75.60.22.109.rev.sfr.net)
20:06.28hexnewbieWell, in the player settings you can choose "No audio output", and alternatively select the volume at which notifications will be played (since it is 100% by default, it probably plays twice louder than your music because of it)
20:06.44wm4where are these "player settings"?
20:07.07hexnewbieWhat version of KDE software are you using?
20:07.26wm4kde5, whatever is in arch
20:07.49wm4kde frameworks 5.12.0
20:08.09hexnewbieOK, then I don't know. Maybe the setting is gone, though it has been there since like KDE 2 or 3

20:38.31apb1963Wait for an expert but a seg fault is the program crashing... considering it's a widely used program it's fairly hard to believe there's a bug in it for such a simple task so...  perhaps your binary (the partition manager) has been corrupted.  Me, I would reinstall the partition manager.  How to do that is left as an exercise for the reader :)  But again... that's what I, a non-expert would do.  If it messes you up, don't say you haven't been warned.
