14:17.17blip9hi,  i used to use xfce and would like to switch to KDE 3.  I like all the features of KDE except i am missing 1 very useful feature... in thunar file manager under xfce you get a sidepane where you can add shortcuts to directories that you often visit.  I understand this can be done in Konqueror by adding the directory as a bookmark... but is there a way to add it to a sidebar so it does not mix with the konqueror internet bookmarks ?  thanks

22:50.16Pig_Penso kde will not run without dbus running once installed?
22:50.27pinotreecorrect
22:50.54pinotreekde4 requires dbus (the library) when compiling, and the daemon available (if not running)

22:51.36Pig_Penah, so if i install dbus but not start the daemon and when starting kde it will automatically start dbus with it
22:51.51c-101is there a published documentation about kio somewhere ?
22:51.52pinotreecorrect
22:52.21Pig_Penthanks for the information, i guess i am back to the drawing board :)
22:53.15c-101already found it :)

22:59.26Pig_Penone more question, i noticed now there are three kdebase packages, (kdebase, kdebase-runtime and kdebase-workspace) i would still guess kdelibs comes first and kdebase comes second, between kdebase-runtime & kdebase-workspace which comes next?
22:59.52pinotreeyou need kdelibs + kdebase-runtime as bare minimum to run kde4 applications
23:00.01pinotreeeverything else is optional
23:00.51Pig_Penok, so to get a good kdedesktop i need to start kdelibs first, kdebase-runtime, then kdebase, then kdebase-workspace should get me a kdedesktop running
23:01.08Pig_Penin that order
23:01.30pinotreeyes (you need kdepimlibs for kdebase-runtime)
