23:02.32 | mzb | I've got two irrigation solenoids so far ... and up to now the rain sensor (mounted next to the tipper) has been controlling when the solenoids _don't_ work |
23:03.17 | mzb | planning on getting another 8 solenoids and also adding pop-up sprinklers for the lawns (x3!) |
23:05.22 | mzb | the idea is that measuring the rainfall will allow me to determine _exactly_ when and how much each section of the garden needs watering |
23:07.14 | mzb | rain tipper cost me $3 for the funnel ;) |
23:07.33 | mzb | irrigation board cost ~$5 for the terminal strips :))) |
23:08.19 | mzb | this is my "master plan" so far: http://www.users.on.net/~marcusbrutus/RainTipper/28Elliott.xcf |
23:52.30 | flypiper | Nice! I have a cousin that has worked for the Water Company here for 20 years, and all he does now is build the control boxes for the water pumps and monitoring equip in the towers. I really haven't paid much attention to his work, but I guess he knows what he is doing ! |
