01:18.37Lenseare there instructions on how to use the finger pulse sensor? I haven't gotten the ecg app to measure anything
01:37.30mmu_manLense: well you must be relaxed, because muscle mouvement create parasites
01:37.39mmu_manbest is to sit in front of a table
01:38.17mmu_manput both arms on the table and rested, and just put a right hand finger on the large plate on the top
01:38.26mmu_manworks for me, after like 20s
01:38.51mmu_mannot sure there's an app for that sensor already
01:38.57mmu_mananyway, zz
01:44.03mmu_manwith the bottom plates touching the left arm skin, of course :p
01:44.14mmu_mandid I say I was sleeping

02:28.24Lensethanks, but I still haven't gotten it. double checking: is my finger supposed to touch the gold parts and the black sensor?
02:28.35Lensealso what does bias mean in this context?

02:37.47dos1I get best results when I use two fingers and I press the golden pad with one, and top right screw with the other
02:38.25dos1this way it makes the best contact with the skin at the bottom

08:44.44flo5702-An update on yesterdays step counter discussinon: the BHI160 does count steps more or less immediately. It may take a few steps to recognize that you are now walking, but then it stay mostly in snc with the movement. The delayed updates I observed were in fact caused by clogged FreeRTOS queues and overly generous queue send timeouts.

17:13.54DocScrutinizer05LEL  50€ deposit on LiIon batteries >=9V
17:14.31DocScrutinizer05because those ignite the junkyards
17:14.56DocScrutinizer05only a plan so far
17:15.28DocScrutinizer05oops ECHAN, sorry
17:51.41Stormwind_mobileI got a 5 pack of USB-C to micro USB adapters for about 2,50€, and took one of them apart. Looks like a much cheaper source for USB-C plugs than cutting a 5€ cable in half, that you have to solder wires to, anyway.
17:52.42Stormwind_mobileIs there some greater concept behind organizing all the software and hardware modifications that people made and will make?
17:53.15Stormwind_mobileStill didn't have time to dig deep, so I just ask.
18:50.17DocScrutinizer05Stormwind_mobile: a usb-c to micro usb sounds like only 4 wires are running to the usb c. This won't match the requirements
18:54.55DocScrutinizer05~listkeys #card10badge*ecg
18:55.12DocScrutinizer05~ecg-cable
18:55.12infobotecg-cable is probably https://card10.badge.events.ccc.de/en/ecg_kit_assembly/
18:57.02DocScrutinizer05Stormwind_mobile: see https://card10.badge.events.ccc.de/media/ecg/wire-meanings.jpg
18:58.22DocScrutinizer05in a cable to micro-USB you reasonably would expect only black green white red aka Gnd D+ D- VBUS
19:02.04Stormwind_mobileIt's a full USB-C plug and a female micro USB on a tiny PCB. Its totally suited. I'll post a photo, eventually.
19:02.17Stormwind_mobileSuitable.
19:08.49DocScrutinizer05https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:USB_3.0_Kabel_und_Stecker.png
19:14.27DocScrutinizer05even https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Serial_Bus#Pinouts_und_Adernfarben "Vollbeschaltetes USB-3.1-Typ-C-auf-Typ-C-Kabel"
19:19.38DocScrutinizer05though the cable shown in https://card10.badge.events.ccc.de/en/ecg_kit_assembly/ above is "USB 3.0 Standard / Powered" USB3-TX twisted pair (orange/pink)
19:21.58DocScrutinizer05I guess if you got a pcb with all USB-C pins routed out to get access to them, you could attach a shielded twisted pair to the right pin pair but if that's really more convebient than "cutting a 5€ cable in half" is questionable

20:12.02DocScrutinizer05re >>that you have to solder wires to, anywayyy I think those wjould be as short as possible, max 20cm each(ideally should be shielded too) while the common twisted pair cable from USB-C to Y-fork may well be more than 1m from wrist to breast
20:13.01DocScrutinizer05s/wayyy/way<</
20:55.17Stormwind_mobileWell, there's room for debate which aspects are important for whom.
20:55.17Stormwind_mobileI'd prefer having only one location to solder instead of multiple, which need to be isolated, can break individually, etc.
20:56.45Stormwind_mobileIt's intended as a suggestion what is possible, some hackers have to turn every penny twice, some just buy a ten-pack off amazon, and both is fine.
