15:51.03JeffMhey blast007 what ever happened with fastmap?
15:51.24blast007seems like it works fine now
15:51.28JeffMhuzah
15:51.33blast007I've been using it for a while now
15:51.37JeffMcool
15:51.48JeffMthen I think the only issues with HTTP left are with auth
15:52.06JeffMhas to spend 9 more hours at work
15:53.24JeffMlets see what else is needed for 2.4.2 so you can have that to use for debianness
15:58.33JeffMlooks like you could ship at any time, the only other "major" things are bzadmin building on windows, and a list server change.
15:58.38JeffMand a teamflag thing
15:59.26blast007I don't even know if that ANSI code issue with server descriptions even applies anymore
15:59.33JeffMit may not
15:59.50blast007we color the server descriptions in the client based on shot count, iirc
16:00.22JeffMcould any characters in the description screw up listing for the client in any way
16:00.24blast007in any case, not a release issue
16:00.29JeffMk
16:00.32blast007we can fix that in the list itself
16:00.59JeffMI don't know how the flag spawning code works so I'm not sure how hard that one is, but I can't think it's a dealbreaker
16:02.14Cobra_Fastdoes that flag thing even apply for the 2.4 line?
16:02.39blast007is this the "teamflags do not follow groups with zoneflag" bug?
16:02.39JeffMsomeone thought it did
16:02.44JeffMdo you want to test it

16:03.19JeffMits' bug 2938335 on SF
16:03.23JeffMdelusional reported it
16:03.47JeffMreport says it was in 2.x and 2.99
16:03.59blast007team flags are handled a bit differently than other flags, iirc
16:04.00Cobra_Fast1,5 years ago on version 2.0 and 2.99
16:04.18blast007Cobra_Fast: 2.4 is based on 2.0, so it probably still applies
16:04.42JeffMdelusional, can you restest your HTF flag bug in 2.4?

16:10.20blast007JeffM: the map he provided has a zone inside of a define, and that zone specifies a zoneflag of a red flag
16:10.34JeffMahh so the zone dosn't dupe with each instance?
16:10.46blast007the defined is used by five groups, but only a single flag appears at the position defined in the zone definition
16:11.08blast007I'm gonna swap it to a superflag to see if those properly spawn
16:11.10JeffMdo we allow multiple zones for teamflags when there is only a single teamflag
16:11.16JeffMyeah
16:11.20JeffMcus teamflags may be limited
16:11.38JeffMit woudl also be interesting to try it with out a define, just have multiple zones
16:11.46blast007we define teamflags at the beginning of the flag list, iirc
16:12.07*** join/#bzflag ahs3- (~ahs3-@adsl-065-005-193-158.sip.rdu.bellsouth.net)
16:13.28blast007doesn't work for a SW either.  it just puts that single flag.
16:13.44CIA-117BZFlag: 03Joevano 07http://wiki.bzflag.org * r8107 10/Color(BZW): /* Pre-defined colors */ Pretty up the list a bit
16:17.44blast007has zoneflag ever worked within defines?  or, do zones work at all within defines?

16:23.52Cobra_Fastso cia totally left out my commit, i feel left out :(
16:24.10JeffMwhat did you do?
16:24.20Cobra_Fasthttp://bzflag.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/bzflag?revision=22214&view=revision
16:25.57JeffMwhy did you not put that first If(c>0) into the IF below it as an OR
16:26.49Cobra_Fastthe client crashes within isprint() and isspace() so i wanted to be sure that those dont get called
16:26.58JeffMI know what you did
16:27.20JeffMI just don't like 2 ifs right after each other with out brackets
16:27.37Cobra_Fastwell then change it to something you do like
16:27.42JeffMI shall
16:27.52JeffMjust curious why you did it that way, that's all :)
16:28.31Cobra_Fastim still not sure if it does call code behind a || if the code before returned true
16:28.40JeffMit does not
16:28.46JeffMthat's defined behavor of C
16:28.52Cobra_Fastokay
16:29.15JeffMthats how you can ask if (c==NULL || c->die())
16:29.29JeffMonce an or is flase it goes to the end
16:30.00Cobra_Fastand it doesnt go behind a && if the stuff in front if it is false?
16:30.11JeffMan AND is different
16:30.29JeffMit has to test all of them to be sure
16:30.39JeffMI think
16:32.26JeffMno you are right it'll bail out too
16:32.47JeffMcus if one is false even if the rest are true then it can't be true
16:33.03Cobra_Fastyep
16:33.05Cobra_Fast:)
16:33.17JeffMa goto.. seriously.. who the hell put a goto there
16:34.10JeffMugg and all the godo does is "return true"
16:34.16Cobra_Fastdtremenak, according to blame/praise
16:34.27JeffMoh...he should know better
16:35.13blast007that's just who last changed the line, not who necessarily added it
16:35.28JeffMyeah he may have just backported it
16:35.48JeffMcus I really don't think he would have added a goto that could just be replaced by a return
16:36.58Cobra_Fastwant me to review all that stuff a bit?
16:37.11JeffMnaw I'm commiting now
16:37.18JeffMbut thank you
16:37.40CIA-117BZFlag: 03JeffM2501 * r22216 10/trunk/bzflag/src/bzflag/HUDuiTypeIn.cxx:
16:37.40CIA-117BZFlag: cleanup some weird if structures to better follow the DEVINFO
16:37.40CIA-117BZFlag: remove the lamest GOTO ever.
16:37.45JeffMthere were some other weird things in there too
16:37.56JeffMan if before a HUGE switch with no brackets
16:39.45blast007yeah, wasn't dtr that added the goto
16:40.02blast007he split the HUDui.cxx up into multiple files, and that came with
16:41.33JeffMahh good
16:41.42blast007haha, looks like that goto has been there since BZFlag went open-source
16:41.47blast007it's in revision 2 ;)
16:41.58JeffMprobalby added by crs then
16:44.58CIA-117BZFlag: 03JeffM2501 * r22217 10/trunk/bzflag/tools/modeltool/modeltool.cxx: add -usericomat to flag faces that start with rico_ with the ricochet property.
17:03.30blast007okay, tested the zoneflag issue further
17:04.19blast007it seems like either zones or zoneflag does not follow group definitions.  I removed the 'group' that would have placed the define at the original location, and the red flag still spawned at that spot.
17:04.39blast007tries without any groups
17:05.05Cobra_Faststart looking into code already :P
17:06.31JeffMnarowing it down in testing is a wise plan :)
17:08.18blast007yep, the zoneflag still takes effect even though I didn't use that define anywhere
17:09.09JeffMzones may be processed seperately
17:09.14blast007likely
17:09.26blast007or at least, the zoneflag stuff, since it has to add additional flags to the flag list
17:09.34JeffMyeah
17:15.29blast007our docs say you can put box, pyramid, base, mesh, meshbox, meshpyr, arc, sphere, tetrahedron, and teleporter inside a define
17:15.55JeffMclose the bug and say it's not supported
17:16.13JeffMand add an enhancment to 3.0 to the roadmap
17:16.27JeffMthere are probalby other things that don't work in a define too
17:16.51blast007teleporter links are another one
17:17.00blast007that may have been resolved in the 2.99.x code though
17:17.21JeffMthat sounds like a hard problem
17:17.35JeffMI'd only allow porters and links in a define that link to items in the same define
17:17.42blast007yeah
17:17.46JeffMas going across defines or group instances would be harder
17:17.50blast007that's probably the only way it would be feasible
17:23.28CIA-117BZFlag: 03Blast 07http://wiki.bzflag.org * r8108 10/Development_RoadMap: /* 3.0 (Next Major) */

18:03.10CIA-117BZFlag: 03Joevano 07http://wiki.bzflag.org * r8111 10/Color(BZW): /* Pre-defined colors */ Ok, done messing with this... fixed the order of a couple of the colors
18:04.50joevanoanybody know of a good way to sort color codes so that like colors group together... like a rainbow?
18:05.09JeffMconvert them to HSB
18:05.11joevanoso I guess I lied... I'm not done messing with the page
18:05.21JeffMthen put them into a cube :)
18:05.42joevanokk... I have it all in a spreadsheet that spits out wiki code so that shouldn't be too bad
18:06.05joevanocan we put a pivot table on the wiki?
18:06.11joevano;-)
18:06.37JeffMhttp://www.exampledepot.com/egs/java.awt/color_Hsb.html
18:06.43JeffMthe H compoent is the Hue
18:06.51JeffMso sorting on that gives you the rainbow
18:07.15JeffMbut that uses java
18:10.03blast007If I'm going to merge some of these changes in, how should I go about doing that?  do them individually, or as a single commit?  http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kgoetz/+junk/bzflag-debian-directory/changes
18:10.51JeffMdepends on if you think they may need to be removed indivdualy, if not do a single
18:10.57blast007and should Karl go into the authors file.. or, what?  not sure how we handle outside contributions like that
18:11.14JeffMsame as a patch
18:12.31blast007what do we do for patches?
18:12.51blast007add then under 'CODE CONTRIBUTORS' in AUTHORS?
18:12.51JeffMthey go in one part of the authors file
18:12.53JeffMlet me look
18:12.56JeffMyeah code I think
18:13.18JeffMyes code contributors
18:13.45JeffMthose people did not have commit when they did whatever they did
18:19.24blast007just making sure, but we do not currently use gettext for our l10n stuff, right? seems it's handled with the Bundle* files?
18:35.34CIA-117BZFlag: 03blast007 * r22218 10/trunk/bzflag/ (AUTHORS debian/bzflag.docs):
18:35.35CIA-117BZFlag: Merge r129 from http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kgoetz/+junk/bzflag-debian-directory/changes (Karl Goetz):
18:35.35CIA-117BZFlag:  * These files are not needed in the Debian package.
18:36.23blast007going to do them individually so that we can track which ones that were merged
18:36.43blast007and since some of them I'll only be doing parts of instead of the whole revision
18:47.52JeffMdoes anyone here EVER use the debian dir?
18:51.27delusionalblast, that the key words in that zoneflag bug were "multiple team flags" and "HTF".  It was just before I was testing that doomed "steamroller race" concept, and why i needed a plugin for it.    I do believe that the bzfs version at that time included LUA (If that means anything)
18:51.53delusionalyou want a test?  I included a map with the bug.
18:52.36JeffMdelusional, no, it's not a suported features of defines
18:52.47JeffMthey are not documented to work with zones
18:52.54JeffMand we added it as an ehnacment for later
18:53.30JeffMit has the same problem with other flags
18:53.38delusionalOK, good.  The steamroller race plugin actually worked pretty good, and it's a good concept, but I just abandoned it.
18:53.40JeffMso it's a general issue with how defines work with zones
18:54.03JeffMzones are processed differently then other objects since they have to add flags to the flag list.
18:54.56JeffMmust go scavange for sustenance.
18:57.11blast007delusional: *none* of the features of a 'zone' works within a define
18:57.13blast007I tested them all
18:57.29blast007a zone inside a define is treated like it was placed outside of the define
18:57.36delusionalzoneflag is another matter.
18:58.06blast007are you still referring to zoneflag within a define?
18:58.07delusionalyeah
18:58.13blast007that does not work.
18:58.22blast007zones do not work inside of a define
18:58.44blast007doesn't matter what part of a zone
18:58.56delusionalOh, i misread *none* as *zone*
18:59.09blast007:)
18:59.40blast007you'll have to define multiple zones manually
