00:34.23JeffMAAA_awright: our makefile system is not set up to do them seperate from the main build
00:34.27JeffMwindows is
00:34.32JeffMit's as simple as that
00:35.03AAA_awrightJeffM: BZFlag's is not, you mean?
00:35.14AAA_awrightBZFlags... BZFlag... hm.
00:36.15JeffMbzflag's build system is the same as our plugins build system
00:36.22JeffMthey are considered components
00:36.28JeffMjust like libgame and lib3d
00:36.58JeffMto build one external it' will need it's own copy of all the make stuff
00:37.06JeffMand code to find the bzflag headers, and plugin utils
00:37.21AAA_awrightThat is what I am implementing
00:37.32JeffMprobalby best to make it use autotools
00:37.48JeffMcopy the makefile we have and just remove all the other build items and just leave yours
00:37.56JeffMoverkill but functional and easy
00:38.24AAA_awrightI'm looking over it now, it is... overkill
00:38.55JeffMit's ether that or invent your own wheel
00:39.29AAA_awrightWell I have to figure out how autoconf/automake even work, I did get it working for MasterBot, but that was by change
00:39.32AAA_awright*chance
00:39.45JeffMI'm sure there are tutorials on the net
00:39.56AAA_awrightI read through quite a few

01:12.49brlcadAAA_awright_: to build both bundled and unbundled using just one set of build files means hooking things in as a subconfigure
01:13.21brlcadthe makefile.am for your project doesn't really change, but you would have to write up your own configure.ac and hook it in differently
01:13.55brlcadif you don't have it working bundled, you shouldn't try tackling unbundled
01:16.01AAA_awright_brlcad: It did work bundled, kinda
01:16.28brlcadall the plugins together are set up this way, they can work stand-alone or embedded and they subconfigure correctly
01:16.35AAA_awright_I had this shell script that would do some stuff that would make it all work
01:17.15brlcadthat's not working
01:21.05AAA_awrightMy dilemma is I somehow made automake work all by myself with no understanding of why
01:28.05brlcadautomake isn't very complicated, it's just lists of files and settings defined through specificly named variables
01:28.23brlcadyou learn what the variable names are, what they mean, and you've learned just about all there is to automake
01:28.52brlcadthe harder part is usually libtool or autoconf detections

05:30.01L4m3rJeffM, was there any particular reason you chose the colors you did for the shirt preorders?
05:30.10L4m3rI mean, that shirt comes in a TON of colors
05:30.30JeffMyeah but the realy light ones won't show the white on the logo well
05:30.40JeffMso I picked what I thought would look good
05:30.45L4m3rheh
05:30.58L4m3rI figured you just narrowed it down because of the quantity
05:31.00JeffMhad one gray one printed last time, and it was "iffy"
05:31.05L4m3rI mean, damn...
05:31.21JeffMI'd not go lighter then the ash gray

05:34.22delusionali'm trying his changes now...  don't have a map that produces the "floating point error" to test it on.
05:34.27JeffMnope
05:34.29JeffMwhat did he change?
05:35.00delusionalhe made a forum post  quote  One thing that has helped me not get "stuck" on mesh maps is rounding the numbers to say three decimal points. I find that floating point values like 123.45e-15 cause issues on some platforms. I have had _way_ fewer issues with players getting stuck and mesh alignment since I modified modeltool to round to three decimal points.
05:35.18JeffMahh
05:35.18JeffMfun
05:35.26JeffMhas  he submited a patch to SF?
05:35.27Lukstrheh, figures
05:35.28delusionaltold me how to patch modeltool     everwhere there is a '%f' change that to a '.3%f' ,thats point three percent f.
05:35.42JeffMyeah I know how printf works ;)
05:36.41JeffMbest would be to submit code changes as patches not fourm posts
05:38.48delusionalbzw's definitely have a cleaner appearance when viewed as test,  i need a map that normally produces that thing where you get stuck on edges, to test

17:43.30blast007would we be open to animating the tank icon in the menu?  the code to do so has been there for a long time. (You just make an image that's, say, 6 times as wide as tall, and that gives it 6 frames)
17:44.20blast007I have one made up where the tank sorta bounces up and down

17:55.21bugQok, so maybe change it to menu_arrow1.png or menu_arrow_once.png and let the animation only run once every time the cursor moves.
17:55.28bugQas an option.
17:56.20blast007eh
17:56.32blast007why?
17:56.51blast007currently we don't animate at all, since our file is only a single "frame"
17:57.08JeffMyes but if it had frames it would animate all the time
17:57.20JeffMhis idea is to have one animation for idle and one for movement
17:57.27JeffMso you could have like a bobble on move
17:57.33JeffMand then a shine on idle
17:57.40JeffMI like the shine idea
17:57.44bugQsomething like that, yeah.
17:57.58bugQit would only differentiate if the file existed
17:58.17blast007hmm
