20:03.08 | drinian | the bzflag client isn't showing a server list for me either. |
20:03.21 | captain_proton | drinian: tried `bzflag -list default` ? |
20:03.50 | drinian | I'll try it. |

20:05.33 | drinian | hmm...it started yesterday |
20:05.35 | captain_proton | Patlabor221: then it would just resolve wrong, it wouldn't fail to resolve |
20:05.43 | Patlabor221 | true |
20:05.43 | drinian | Think it would take that long? |
20:05.45 | Patlabor221 | odd then |
20:06.00 | drinian | ibot shows people on there |
20:06.02 | | drinian: wish i knew |
20:06.29 | drinian | what's the url for the list? |
20:07.11 | Patlabor221 | http://www.bzflag.org/list-server.txt |
20:07.35 | Patlabor221 | and it's showing, bzflist://12.237.229.200:5156/ |
20:07.59 | drinian | hmmm |
20:08.17 | larsl | drinian: I had some problems with that, when I told bzfs to look at the http address it wouldn't work, when I gave it the bzflist:// directly it did. |
20:09.49 | drinian | larsl: how do you do that? |
20:10.13 | larsl | For the server, -publiclist bzflist://12.237.229.200:5156 |
20:10.22 | larsl | For the client I think it's -list bzflist://12.237.229.200:5156 |
20:11.22 | drinian | larsl: that works. |
20:12.02 | larsl | You should only need to do that once for the client, it will get saved in your config file. |
20:12.03 | drinian | Is the default list set to .com rather than .org? |
20:12.33 | larsl | The default list is on bzflag.sourceforge.net. |
20:13.04 | larsl | That's what my server thinks anyway. |
20:13.30 | drinian | yes, I remember seeing that somewhere. |
20:13.41 | drinian | I can http browse to it fine. |
20:13.46 | larsl | Me too. |
20:14.09 | larsl | Maybe it's doing some HTTP voodoo that bzfs/bzflag doesn't support. |
20:15.11 | drinian | perhaps, becuase I several computers here with bzflag on them and they all stopped showing the server list |
20:15.17 | drinian | I have |
20:15.31 | drinian | over the weekend |
20:21.34 | Patlabor221 | hmmmm, if on a server Cell = an admin, you gotta know something's up |
20:23.40 | larsl | The Cell? |
20:24.33 | Patlabor221 | can not be sure, but it would seem like that |
20:25.06 | Patlabor221 | the jayclespace servers have allways seemd a bit "iffy" to me |

22:03.30 | larsl | Let me know what you think, and if you want a password. |
22:03.38 | [dmp] | just read it |
22:04.12 | [dmp] | i know a few players who have been missing a "password protected" server.. Which I guess this is at some level. |
22:05.37 | larsl | It's a bit more complicated to do it like this than to just have one global password for the server, but on the other hand you don't have to change the password if one of the players turns out to be an idiot. |
22:09.18 | [dmp] | But I think its a nice feature. If I had a server, i woudl properly use it :) |
22:11.32 | [dmp] | Would actually I like per-user-passwords better than a global password. A global password can get into the wrong hands and then you need to change it, and tell everyone that its changed. By doing it this way, I would guard my identify, as if anyone gets my password, they virtually would be 'me' (in some sense). |
22:12.57 | [dmp] | Night everybody. |
